[ there aren't any guns (as far as i can recall), so it's just black powder to her ]

Yes, a small amount of gunpowder. I'm hoping it hasn't been contaminated too much by the environment.

Oh, I might be able to purify it if the right things are here.

[ but if she's going to do that, she has to know: ]

Are you gonna make a bomb out of it?

[voltadomar]

[A mild questioning look at that. She can what? Okay, he's going to answer the question first.]

I haven't quite decided. Normally, I wouldn't touch something like that, but after seeing those "spectres" the other day, and the state of the ship we just explored...

[Kim was not going to stop those spectres with a bullet, and he knows it.]

I know that we're dealing with forces that are well beyond the equipment we have. So... yes, perhaps an explosive device may have a use in the future.

Can't see why a bomb wouldn't work on a sea monster.

Those Spectre things definitely are something else though... I wonder why a bunch of us can't see them properly? It makes things a pain to deal with!

I mean, I sorta could? But it was really difficult! I'd probably miss them if I was in a hurry.

What'd they look like to you? I know the others keep saying they're like "ink in water" or whatever, but that just sounds stupid.

[ congratulations! Ulrika gives him an enthusiastic thumbs-up, beaming for a long moment, before stepping closer. she makes a shrugging motion, before looking at him and tilting her head. what's up? ]

To begin with, I have to ask... is it true you can see what's happening on this side, from beyond?

after a moment, it's as if a rewind has been hit, and Ulrika recondenses before Kim's eyes, stumbling as she clutches her chest. ]

[His eyes widen in immediate alarm.]

What in the...!?

[He reaches out to grab her by the shoulders, hoping to help steady her.]

... Are you all right?

[magichammer]

[ she grasps his arm for support, visibly controlling her breaths - in through the nose, out through the mouth. after collecting herself, she'll nod at his question, before pointing at him, the ground beneath their feet, and crossing her arms in a big X. ]

I'm sorry. I didn't think...

[He looks horrified at this.]

Do you need to sit down?

[ she looks down at her feet in contemplation, before nodding. yes, sitting would probably be best. thanks for asking, Mr. Kim - she pats his shoulder consolingly and gratefully. ]

I'm at Al Revis Academy, but I just graduated, so I was planning on taking some time off to do more traveling. We went to all sorts of places for school, but not really many towns...
